The Academic Council of Navoiy State University is the principal advisory body guiding the university's research and academic life. It comprises the rector, vice-rectors, faculty deans, senior academics and experienced specialists in research.
The Council deals with dissertation defences, the award of degrees and titles, the approval of curricula and the setting of research project and grant priorities. True to the university's motto — Knowledge, Science, Spirit — its work is aimed at building research capacity.
